Position 1: Primary Health Care Operations Director

Fund for Global Health (FFGH) is looking for an Operations Director to oversee its healthcare programs in Niger State, Nigeria. FFGH is a non-profit organization based in the United States that aims to lower child mortality with cost-effective healthcare initiatives in rural, hard-to-reach villages of Nigeria. All training for the position will be provided by FFGH.

 Tasks include: 

  • Management of current programs, including financial and personnel management

  • Overseeing program expansion

  • Manage verification of services delivered

  • Design and implement surveys and other data collection initiatives

  • Work collaboratively with the Niger State Program Director and FFGH Executive Director to manage the program

 Time commitment: 

  • Variable, approximately 30 hours per week

  • Comfortable working with numbers 

  • Secondary school graduate

  • Fluent in English and Hausa

  • Passionate about advancing quality healthcare in rural villages

  • Comfortable working with Excel

  • The following are not required but would be considered an asset

    • Experience working with KoboCollect, Python, etc.

    • Experience in program management

    • Experience working with healthcare programs 

    • Masters, PhD, or Medical Degree

Application Task

 Thank you for your interest in FFGH. The goal of this Application Task is to assess your skills. Please submit the completed task (in Excel), along with your cover letter and resume/CV to Kristy Dang at k.dang@fundforglobalhealth.org

Background: FFGH employs health workers to deliver Vitamin A to children under five. We pay our health workers a bonus based on the quality of their distributions and the number of Vitamin A capsules they deliver each month. Our Vitamin A bonus scheme is below:

 Requirement to be eligible for the bonus:

1.      Distribute at least 450 Vitamin A capsules per month

2.      Adequate verification of services delivered = at least 5 respondents confirm that Vitamin A was given to their child

 Once eligible:

3,000 Naira for filling out Vitamin A forms correctly, meaning ALL forms submitted must meet the following criteria:

-          At least 1 unique, valid phone number per side

-          Village name is clearly written

-          Parent’s full name is written down (first and last name)

-          Each form is dated

 PLUS

 700 Naira per 50 Vitamin A capsules submitted after reaching the minimum of 450 Vitamin a capsules per month

Task: Using Excel, please calculate the expected Vitamin A bonus for each health worker below. Please clearly show each step you took in order to arrive to your final answer. Please also include a summary section at the top with each health worker’s name and their expected bonus.

 1.      Fatima: She distributed 600 Vitamin A capsules this month. Her Vitamin A forms had 1-3 phone numbers per side with the village name, parent’s name, and date all filled out. Of the phone numbers called for verification, she had 9 respondents that confirmed Vitamin A was given to their child.

2.      Samuel: He distributed 578 Vitamin A capsules this month. Some of his Vitamin A forms were filled out completely, but others were missing phone numbers or the village name. Of the phone numbers called for verification, he had 15 respondents that confirmed Vitamin A was given to their child.

 3.      Attahiru: He distributed 725 Vitamin A capsules this month. His Vitamin A forms had 1 phone number per side. Half of his forms were missing the village name and a quarter of them were missing the date. Of the phone numbers called for verification, he had 3 respondents that confirmed Vitamin A was given to their child.

Position 2: Senior Clinical Outreach Officers, Niger State, Nigeria

We are seeking well-trained health professionals, with qualifications at the Community Health Extension Worker level or higher,  to serve as mobile health workers.  Attractive pay for health workers who can deliver strong results.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent clinical knowledge and skills

  • Fluent in Hausa

  • Good spoken English

  • Able to drive a motorcycle

  • Good basic mathematical skills
